Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate double stacked discounts (e.g. 25% off + extra 10% off)?

Stacked discounts apply successively: First deduct 25% from original price ($100 → $75). Then deduct 10% from the discounted price ($75 → $67.50). Total effective discount is 32.5% off.

How do I calculate final price with sales tax?

Multiply the discounted price by (1 + Tax Rate / 100). For example, $67.50 with 8% sales tax = $67.50 × 1.08 = $72.90 final payable price.

What is the difference between Profit Margin and Cost Markup?

Profit Margin is Profit divided by Selling Price (Profit / Revenue). Cost Markup is Profit divided by Cost Price (Profit / Cost). A 50% markup produces a 33.3% profit margin.
